The Char Dham temples are expected to open in early May, after the Kumbh. Take your snan with us now, and we'll plan your yatra for May onwards.
Plan ahead
- Book stays early. Rooms near the ghats sell out months ahead, especially around Amrit Snan days.
- Arrive a day before your snan. Roads into the centre close to private vehicles on the big days.
- With elders, pick a regular snan day or a weekday between the big dates.

When is the Haridwar Kumbh 2027?
From 14 January (Makar Sankranti) to 20 April 2027 (Chaitra Purnima), with ten official bathing dates.
What are the Amrit Snan dates of Haridwar Kumbh 2027?
The Mela administration's calendar names three Amrit Snan days: 6 March (Mahashivratri), 8 March (Phalguna Amavasya) and 14 April (Mesh Sankranti and Baisakhi).
Can we take our car to Har Ki Pauri during the Kumbh?
Not on the big days. Vehicles park at areas outside the centre, with shuttles towards the ghats, and the ghat area is mostly open only on foot. Plan to walk.
When should we book a hotel for the Kumbh?
As soon as your dates are fixed. Rooms near the ghats sell out months ahead, especially around the Amrit Snan days.
Is the Kumbh safe for senior citizens?
Yes, with planning. Choose a regular snan day instead of an Amrit Snan, stay close to the ghats, go early in the morning, and keep their ID and your phone number in their pocket.
